Something Is Always Going On In Bradenton

Posted December 11, 2011

Bradenton Florida

Bradenton, Florida Is Great Place to Live

The city of Bradenton is the largest city in Manatee County with approximately 50,000 residents. Located just to the north of Sarasota, Bradenton offers its residents and visitors a casual, relaxing lifestyle that everyone finds appealing. Bradenton is a fabulous place for young families, professionals, baby boomers, and retirees.

Bradenton and Anna Maria Island, its gulf-front island neighbor across the causeway, offer every conceivable opportunity for leisurely walks on the beach, splashing in the warm surf on a sunny beach, boating, scuba diving, fishing and sailing. Or, you can may want to just kick back for an evening of dining out or having a drink with friends in one of the many restaurants or pubs on downtown Bradenton's historic Old Main Street.

And, of course, you can enjoy a round of golf every day of the year on one of the numerous public and private golf courses. The city of Bradenton is home to some of the best golf courses in Florida - a place where there's a golf course for every level of play.

But Bradenton is also more than just water sports and golf. There is a constant flow of family-focused activities that are fun and entertaining for residents and visitors of all ages from young families to Baby Boomers and retirees. For example, during just this past week, there were a number of family-focused events including:

  • The Annual Bradenton Holiday Boat Parade
On Saturday, a flotilla of boats decorated with Christmas lights, inflatable statues and Christmas trees, and boisterous crews, participated in the 14th annual Bradenton Holiday Boat Parade.

The boat parade began at the Bradenton Yacht Club, headed to Tarpon Pointe and then returned to the yacht club. Five judges chose the winners, basing their decisions on crew spirit, audience participation and creativity.

  • A Winter Wonderland in Downtown Bradenton
It may not have snowed anywhere else in Florida, but it snowed on Main Street in Bradenton this weekend.

Snow mountains, a festive, family-friendly street party and Santa Claus came to downtown Bradenton for the 16th Annual Winter Wonderland festival Saturday on Old Main Street. Children of all ages enjoyed the annual street party known as the Bradenton Winter Wonderland.

  • A Broadway Star Returns to Bradenton
One of biggest stage stars to emerge from the Bradenton and Manatee County area will make her highly anticipated return this week.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe is bringing back founding company member Teresa Stanley to join the cast in its season opening show, “Love, Sung in the Key of Aretha.”

The 29-year-old actress has been loved by local theater goers since she became known to them as a precocious teen on the local theater scene. Then, 4 years ago, she realized her ultimate dream of reaching Broadway, performing in the blockbuster musical “The Color Purple.” Ms. Stanley has also been in the national tours of the “30th Anniversary of “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and the smash “Rock of Ages,”

  • Village of the Arts Art Walk
The Village of the Arts in Bradenton is a community of over 35 artists living and working together in Florida’s largest art community. Monthly Art Walks on Friday and Saturday, the first weekend of each month fill the streets with art lovers looking for affordable fine art, jewelry, ceramics, clothing and small furniture. The community also has book stores, collectibles shops, gourmet cafes and more. Special events and lectures are also held from time to time.

In addition to all the other attractions in the Sarasota - Bradenton area, the Village of the Arts is a "must-visit" attraction for Bradenton newcomers.

If you have been considering when to visit the Bradenton area to find that retirement dream home, you need to start thinking seriously about it now. Whether you are seeking a home for immediate use or to generate some income until you're ready to retire, you would be well-advised to visit the vibrant city of Bradenton Florida real soon.

Let me help you make your dream of a “Little Piece of Paradise” in Bradenton or out on Anna Maria Island come true now while prices are still depressed.
